What, When, Why, How?

Timewise Power 50 is our annual celebration of the UK’s flexible stars. If you know someone who’s doing brilliant things on a flexible basis, help us champion their achievements and inspire their colleagues by nominating them for this year’s awards.

We’ve spent the last 10 years championing flexible working – and the workplace is finally catching up. But if flexibility is to become the new normal, it needs to start at the top. Real, lasting change will only happen if there’s a big shift in the number of senior leaders who work this way.

So we’re asking you to think about any people you know who are stand-out flexible stars, and share their stories with us. We’re also asking you to highlight inspirational employers with an innovative approach to making flexibility work. Our panel of judges will then choose the best of the best to create the Timewise Power 50 for 2018.

Who can enter?

Entries for the Timewise Power 50 awards will be judged under the following categories. Please note, there isn’t a fixed quota for each category; we’ll simply select the best 50 individuals or pairs.

For senior leaders who work four days or fewer a week

iddle managers who are tipped for success, and work four days or fewer a week

For professional people who have returned from a career break of two years or more into a senior role on a part-time or flexible basis

POWER FOUNDERSPOWER FOUNDERS CATEGORY
For small business founders who have used their start-up status to work flexibly. Must have been trading for a minimum of two years (no sole traders) and have an annual turnover above £500,000.

This year, for the first time, we are also asking for nominations for two employer awards, for organisations demonstrating excellence in the following:

EMPLOYER AWARD: FLEXIBLE JOB DESIGN
For organisations with a strong track record of creating jobs with built-in flexibility that suit employers and employees alike

EMPLOYER AWARD: FLEXIBLE HIRING
For organisations who consistently offer flexibility at the point of hire, and aren’t afraid to shout about it

What are our judges looking for?

Our panel of judges will be looking for stand-out people who show excellence in their field.

ALL CATEGORIES

Successful nominees will need to display:

  • SENIORITY – challenging the notion that part time working only suits junior roles
  • INSPIRATION – breaking new ground or using their position to provide a role model for others
  • SUCCESS – demonstrating clear progress or significant achievement whilst working flexibly

POWER CLIMBERS CATEGORY

Our judges will additionally need to be convinced of the FUTURE POTENTIAL of prospective Power Climbers

POWER FUNDERS CATEGORY

Our judges will additionally need to see evidence of ENTREPRENEURIALSM for Power Founders

EMPLOYER AWARDS

Our judges will be looking for organisations with an INNOVATIVE APPROACH to flexible hiring or flexible job design that is championed at every level.
