Folksy is the UK’s largest online marketplace for hand crafted goods. James co-founded Folksy in 2008 to give micro business a macro platform. With 15,000 active sellers and 25% revenue growth in the last 12 months, James is a rising entrepreneurial star. Prior to Folksy, James worked as a producer in current affairs then in R&D for the BBC. He is passionate about new media’s power to disrupt markets. In his spare time he lectures, invents new digital products, and runs, cycles and swims. All staff work part time bar one, including a team member who moved to the US. She says, ‘James shows incredible respect to staff and gives them lots of autonomy. His only request is that we are all in the office on Monday, by Skype or by seat, to catch up.’
