Day One Flex Ready

Are your HR and recruitment teams ready for the flexible working legislation? What about your line managers and hiring managers?

New legislation, which makes it easier for employees to negotiate a flexible working arrangement, has now become law, with the rights expected to come into force in early 2024.

UK employees will gain enhanced rights to ask for flexible working – including from Day One in a new job. Are your HR and recruitment teams ready for this key change? The new rights will allow employees to request flexible working from their first day of employment in a new job, reduce the timeframe for an employer to respond to requests within and increase the number of times an employee can put a request in, within a 12-month period. Take up is expected to be wide, particularly from groups including parents, carers, older people and people with disabilities and illnesses.
