CLARE PATERSON, BBC Knowledge (part of BBC Vision)

  • Power Part Time 2012

    Commissioning Executive Producer
    Days worked per week: 4

An award-winning programme-maker and executive whose work encompasses documentaries, popular series and films, Clare has been a commissioning executive producer with BBC Knowledge since 2009. She works across all four BBC channels, with special responsibility for commissioning documentaries on BBC Four. Recent credits include the multi-award winning Forgotten Children of Zimbabwe and World’s Most Dangerous Roads. Clare initially chose to work part time because of childcare, but then found it allowed her to explore broader horizons. She has authored a book, been a trustee of the Horniman Museum and director of Horniman Museum Enterprises and taken up painting. Clare says she is inspired by her mother, a former headmistress, who trained part time to become a teacher with three young children.
