Flexible working has regularly hit the headlines this year, through issues such as staffing challenges, the gig economy and the gender pay gap. Now we want to build on this momentum, and increase the rate of change, by celebrating the people and places who are making it work, and showing how they do it.
The nomination period for the next awards closed recently, and our panel of judges are busy choosing the best of the best to create the Timewise Power 50 2019. The final list, to be announced in early 2019, will share the stories of stand-out flexible stars, and also highlight inspirational employers with an innovative approach to making flexibility work.
Entries for individuals who work flexibly are being judged under the following categories.
POWER PART-TIMERS CATEGORY
Senior leaders who work four days or fewer a week
POWER CLIMBERS CATEGORY
Middle managers who are tipped for success, and work four days or fewer a week
POWER JOB SHARERS CATEGORY
Pairs of senior individuals who work together in a job share or job split
POWER RETURNERS CATEGORY
Professional people who have returned from a career break of two years or more, into a senior role on part-time or flexible basis
POWER FOUNDERS CATEGORY
Small business founders who have used their start-up status to give themselves the chance to work flexibly (no sole traders; trading for a two or more years; annual turnover above £500,000).
Employer entries will be judged under the following categories.
INNOVATION IN FLEXIBLE JOB DESIGN
Organisations with a strong track record of creating jobs with built-in flexibility that suit employers and employees alike.
INNOVATIVE FLEXIBLE HIRING
Organisations which consistently offer flexibility at the point of hire, and aren’t afraid to shout about it.
