Penny and Ellie are the Metropolitan Police Service’s most senior jobsharers. They are the deputy leaders of the MPS team responding to a current public inquiry into undercover policing. This role involves managing highly sensitive material and liaison with key stakeholders on issues of substantial public concern. They have also worked on the MPS’s response to the Stephen Lawrence Independent Review and a project to improve MPS information management. Ellie recently gained an MSc in Police Leadership, receiving a distinction. After maternity leave with twins, Ellie has worked in full time and part time roles. Penny was promoted during her second maternity leave, having previously worked part time. They have found the best fit for career development in their jobshare, which enables them to combine time with their families with a challenging career.
